Function decoder...

Many model railway enthusiasts miss an inexpensive function decoder, e.g. for the direction-dependent light change in driving trailers. Instead of producing a separate function decoder at great expense, we have opted for an intelligent software solution.

With the digital plus locomotive decoders STANDARD+ V2 and SILVER+ mini you can choose between two operating modes:

• Operating mode "Locomotive decoder": Motor outputs react to the speed level and direction of travel.
• Function decoder" operating mode: Motor outputs now do not react to the speed level received from the decoder (this would make the brightness of the light dependent on the speed level), but to a function key: if the function is active, full voltage is always output, the polarity is dependent on the direction of travel. This makes use in driving trailers with direction-dependent headlights child's play!

This means that the STANDARD+ V2 and the SILVERmini+ can easily be used as inexpensive function decoders, and the SILVERmini+ can even be used in N-gauge vehicles.
