E 41 - The role model
Developed as a multi-purpose locomotive for light express, passenger and freight transport, the E 41 could be used on main and branch lines thanks to its low axle load. A total of 451 units were built between 1956 and the last year of production in 1971. All E 41s were equipped for push-pull operation and had SIFA and Indusi. The E 41 (141) was in service until the first decade of this century, making it one of the DB's longest-lived electric locomotives. This long service life is reflected in the different livery variants: the first E 41s were still classified as express locomotives according to the old Reichsbahn scheme and were therefore blue. However, because the maximum speed was only 120 km/h, they were no longer considered express locomotives shortly after entering service and were delivered in green as local transport, passenger and freight locomotives. Variants in ocean blue-beige, orient red and traffic red followed later.
E 41 - The model
The first locomotive in the Lenz 0-gauge programme is a completely new development that incorporates all the experience gained from the construction of previous locomotive models. It goes without saying that the pantographs can be operated remotely, and of course this locomotive also has the latest loudspeakers and a top-class sound experience.- Drive via a high-performance motor
- Original sound of the E41, you can experience the perfect soundscape of the "firecracker". For the characteristic "banging" of the locomotives when changing speed steps alone, 11 different samples are used, which are selected by the sound control system according to the situation and random principle. As always, numerous sound settings can be configured by the model railway user, so that different sounds can be heard even when using two locomotives.
- The prototypically designed pantographs can be controlled individually in digital mode; in analogue mode, the pantograph at the rear in the direction of travel is always raised automatically. The height of the pantograph can be set digitally to ensure that the contact strip is just below the model overhead line.
