Donnerbüchsen - The Prototype
The "Donnerbüchsen" (literally "thunder boxes") owe their name to the fact that these cars were the first to use an all-metal construction. Previously, car bodies were always made of wooden structures. The metal construction led to a significantly higher noise level, which earned them the name "Donnerbüchsen." Development and production began in the 1920s.
