New Edition with Effect!
The models not only feature updated operating numbers but also a delightful lighting effect: when the interior lighting is switched on, the light flickers, just like fluorescent tubes with starters used to. Not all lights come on simultaneously; each flickers for a shorter or longer time before fully lighting up. Each car has a unique start-up effect based on its serial number.
This effect is programmable, allowing each car to be assigned an individual sequence and a specific delay.
Note on the New Editions
We were so thrilled with how the lighting effect works that we overlooked an error in the printing templates for two car types in the new edition. As a result, the operating numbers for the new cars 41220-03 and 41230-02 are identical to those of previously delivered cars 41220-01 and 41230. The other new editions feature new operating numbers!
Rebuilt Coaches 4yg(e) - The Prototype
In the early 1950s, the DB's fleet of coaches mainly consisted of two-, three-, and four-axle Reichsbahn cars. Renewing or expanding the fleet was not feasible due to a lack of resources and capacity. Consequently, the existing stock of around 20,000 cars was modernized with the means available: the so-called rebuilt coaches were the result. From 1957 onwards, second-class coaches B4yg were introduced, followed a year later by first- and second-class coaches AB4yg. The first cars were equipped with swan-neck bogies, but later the Minden-Deutz type was used. The last 4yg coaches were only retired in the 1990s. The "e" indicates versions with electric heating.
We offer all three variants of rebuilt coaches with electric heating:
- AB3yge: coach with first and second class
- B3yge: second-class coach, available with different operating numbers
- BPw3yge: second-class coach with luggage compartment
Features of Lenz Gauge 0 Passenger Coaches:
The Lenz Gauge 0 passenger coaches are as true to the original as possible and include:
- Metal wheelsets
- Constant, flicker-free interior lighting, switchable in digital operation
- Power pickup in the axle bearings, ensuring no impact on running characteristics
- Wheel flange height less than 1.2 mm
- Interior fittings
- Automatic coupler with close coupling mechanism
- Standard coupling shaft
- Spring buffers
- Retrofit option for original screw coupler
- "Complete model," no additional parts need to be installed!
