Prussian compartment carriages
Prussian Compartment Coaches - The Prototype
While passenger coaches were initially exclusively two-axle vehicles, from around 1880, three-axle versions were also built, distinguished by their smoother running characteristics. Following the nationalization of the railways in Prussia, the so-called "Norms" were introduced, which set standards for the construction of railway vehicles, including passenger coaches. The three-axle compartment coaches were built according to these norms and were primarily intended for use in passenger trains. The first models were predominantly made of wood, but at the beginning of the 20th century, steel construction became the standard. At the same time, oil lighting was gradually replaced by gas lamps.
Prussian Compartment Coaches - The Models
The Prussian models are produced in various versions: two 1st and 2nd class coaches (B3 and C3) with different running numbers, with or without a brakeman's cabin, and the corresponding baggage car Pw3 Pr 11. All models are available in DB and DR versions, and for fans of Era 2, also as a DRG variant.
In addition to the typical Lenz series equipment, the coaches impress with their excellent detailing and perfect printing.
