REKO Coaches - The Prototype
What the "Umbauwagen" were to the DB, the REKO coaches were to the GDR, although "reconstruction" (Rekonstruktion) here should not be understood in the usual sense of restoration but rather as a complete modernization.
REKO Coaches - The Models
We announced as early as mid-last year that we planned to represent the well-known DR coaches as models. The project is now gaining momentum, with tooling for these fascinating coaches expected to begin in the first quarter of this year. The project includes three different construction types, which will be available in various color schemes and operational numbers.
We have planned the initial variants to allow for prototypical train compositions.
In addition to the typical Lenz series features, the REKO coaches include:
- Constant interior lighting, switchable in digital operation
Features of Lenz Gauge 0 Passenger Coaches:
The Lenz Gauge 0 passenger coaches are as true to the original as possible and include:
- Metal wheelsets
- Constant, flicker-free interior lighting, switchable in digital operation
- Power pickup in the axle bearings, ensuring no impact on running characteristics
- Wheel flange height less than 1.2 mm
- Interior fittings
- Automatic coupler with close coupling mechanism
- Standard coupling shaft
- Spring buffers
- Retrofit option for original screw coupler
- "Complete model," no additional parts need to be installed!
Models that have the status "sold out ex works" or no longer appear in this list may still be available from specialist dealers.
