Lenz EmotionPrecise & quiet

Winkelmagnetsensor With the design of the BR 50, we have developed a whisper-quiet motor control system in which an angular magnetic sensor mounted on the motor axis determines the values required for control. The sensor measures the angular change in the magnetic field lines caused by the rotation of the magnet on the motor axle and thus provides more and also more precise data for the motor control.

The blanking interval of the EMF measurement is omitted, motor control becomes impossible. Because this makes the great track even more fun, we call this drive Lenz e.motion.

Where technically possible and sensible, this motor control is used in new designs or new editions

Klick & go

Locomotive tender coupling made easy \No more fiddling with plug connectors and sockets to connect a tender to a locomotive. The locomotive tender coupling of the current Lenz 0-gauge locomotives establishes both the mechanical and the electrical connection with a simple "click": Place the locomotive and tender on the track, press them together and you're done. Faulty connections or bent contacts are a thing of the past.
Of course, the coupling is guided by a guide rail so that the standard radii can be travelled on despite the prototypical, short locomotive-tender distance.

Lenz track 0 & digital plus: how to drive, switch and signal optimally!

Of course, you can drive your Lenz 0-gauge in the traditional analogue way. But it only gets really perfect when you use theDigital plus Use modules for driving, switching and signalling. Numerous additional functions of the locomotives are only available withDigital plus at your disposal. Feel free to take a look at theDigital plus part of this website. You can also use almost the entire programme for your Lenz 0 gauge! The best way to drive everything from a single source...

The Lenz track 0 clutch

The development of this clutch was a particular challenge.

On the one hand, we assume that most of the available spaces are rather small, which means that most of the tracks have to be laid in curves. Coupling in a curve should therefore also be possible.

On the other hand, we also want to run buffer to buffer, just like the real thing. The latter can be realised with so-called coupling kinematics. We have succeeded in reconciling both requirements, although they are contradictory in nature.

The coupling on all Lenz 0 locomotives as well as other functions (e.g. the sound, light) are equipped with components from theDigital plus programme and other DCC-compliant systems.

What Lenz 0-gauge can do - in conjunction with Digital plus:

ABC ...for precise stopping

The innovative ABC (Automatic Braking Control) technology enables precise stopping in front of signals - also for turning trains, of course.

With the help of the new ABC modules, the locomotive decoder recognises three different signal statuses: "Clear", "Stop", "Slow speed" and behaves accordingly: Passing, stopping (with adjustable braking distance), braking to the slow speed stored in the decoder. If the train approaches the signal in the opposite direction, it is ignored.

During the stop, all functions can still be switched and you can of course drive back away from the signal.

Here you will find further information on ABC and the brake/block section modules

...for uninterruptible power supply

Model railway enthusiasts are more than annoyed when the locomotive suddenly stops on the track due to a lack of contact. The globally unique and innovative USP system solution puts an end to these undesirable faults and sets a new benchmark in model railway technology. In conjunction with the energy storage units, the intelligent USP circuit ensures that the locomotive decoders continue to communicate with the control centre without interruption, even on dirty track sections or when the frogs are de-energised.

The USP memory module is already integrated in the locomotive. The decoder and locomotive continue to be supplied with power from this memory during an interruption on the track (e.g. a de-energised frog, dirt, etc.).

Here you can find more information about USP and the memory modules

What makes USP special (in contrast to simple storage capacitors): Even if there is no longer any electrical contact between the locomotive and the track, the decoder receives the information sent by the digital system. Despite a dirty, de-energised section of track, a change of direction can be commanded, for example.
